Isuzu Introduces Top-of-the-Line Arctic AT35 Model to South Africa Fleet

Isuzu Top-of-the-Line Arctic AT35

The Arctic AT35 model, a result of the collaboration between Arctic Trucks and Isuzu, has been specifically designed to endure extreme conditions and overcome challenging terrains. Manufactured locally at the Strundale production plant in Gqerberha, this facility holds the distinction of being the only one worldwide authorized by Arctic Trucks to produce the AT35 model.

The Arctic AT35 is equipped with a robust 3.0-litre four-cylinder turbodiesel engine, delivering a power output of 140 kW @ 3600r/min and a torque of 450 N.m @1800 r/min to 2800 r/min. This powertrain performance is comparable to that of the D-Max 3.0TD Double Cab V6 available in South Africa. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission. With a maximum payload capacity of 1,075 kg and a towing capacity of 3,250 kg, the Arctic AT35 provides drivers with excellent hauling capabilities.

The AT35 model is designed to exude a more commanding and assertive presence, with its taller and wider stance compared to the rest of the range. The AT35 features broader shoulders and hips, extended by 170 mm from the standard D-Max, achieved through the addition of fender flares. Despite these enhancements, the wheelbase remains unchanged. Notably, the AT35 benefits from the Arctic Trucks Bilstein suspension system, which elevates the double cab’s height from 1,810 mm to 1,875 mm and increases ground clearance to 266 mm at the front and 290 mm at the rear, surpassing the stock measurements by 31 mm.

  • and flared wheel arches.

It also includes Arctic mud flaps and an integrated tailgate step.

The vehicle is equipped with 17-inch AT black alloy wheels wrapped in 35-inch 315/70 R17 BF Goodrich All-Terrain tires, ensuring optimal traction on diverse terrains. Inside the cabin, while it retains a familiar layout to the range-topping V6 model, the AT35 adds Arctic Trucks branded floor mats and headrests to enhance its unique appeal.

Only a limited number of AT35 units will be available for purchase in South Africa. Each unit will come with ISUZU’s comprehensive 5-year/90,000 km service plan, 5-year/120,000 km warranty, roadside assistance, and a 5-year anti-corrosion warranty with unlimited mileage coverage.
